Along the Sacred path
We hear of wisdom,
Gentleness,
And courage.
Of integrity,
And spiritual depth.

Yet rarely are all these qualities
Found within one heart,
Who journeys the spiritual path along with us.

And yet God has gifted me
With such a rare and beautiful
Spiritual teacher.

The pain of diminishment
You suffered as a Mi’kmaq child,
You would later weave
Into a wisdom basket within you,
Filled with spiritual depth
From your elder heart.

And now rich insight
Pours forth from your good soul,
In gentle inspiration
For your Mi’kmaq people
And well beyond.

Those of us who seek the Sacred
And the ways of the Sacred,
Thank you, Sister Dorothy.

You are the soaring eagle,
And the morning star of courage.

You are a gentle gift from our Creator God.
