On the south shore of Northumberland Strait at the mouth of Pictou Harbour in Nova Scotia is the vibrant community of Pictou Landing First Nation (PLFN). It will come as no surprise that the main economic activity here is commercial fishing.

This beautiful community of over 500 residents recently added a new 45-foot lobster/snow crab fishing vessel to their fleet. PLFN first took possession of the new Millennium style fishing vessel in December, 2023. Following an extensive testing period to make sure all was functional and safe the new fishing vessel first became operational last April. ...
