Hello and welcome to Shirley’s Corner. It has been a while since I wrote anything, well, story wise for that matter. I have been sort of hiding out afraid to venture to far from the home front. 

Here it is nearing the end of August which means summer will soon be on its way out and the beauty of Autumn will make is precents known through the hues of the landscape. 

This year I was not much of a camper just perhaps long enough to spend an evening at Kluskap Ridge, a campground nestled snugly at Englishtown just before the ferry. It is owned and operated by Austin Christmas, Darrel and Sharon Bernard. 

On Thursday evening they have Culture Night, where you will hear songs, stories, and drumming. I take part by telling stories and singing. It truly is a fun night because then we also make four cent bread over the fire, everyone really enjoys the evening.

Here is one of the stories I read to them, I wrote this way back in the 90’s when there were issues about Kluskap Mountain, also   known to Non-natives as Kelly’s Mountain. I will let the story give you an idea of went down to save our Sacred Mountain from the giant corporate business world.
