On February 27, Millbrook First Nation held its election, and there were lots of changes. Three positions were available for Council this term, as Mike Stephens ran for Chief only and his Council position was available. Barry Gloade chose not to run this term and long time Councillor Chris Nasson has already left his position a few months ago. There were five people who ran for the Chief’s position, however Chief Bob Gloade retained his title as Chief with a total of 445 votes. Next were Mike Stephens (292), Doug Johnson (58), Shanelle Martin (55) and Richard Wilmot (12).

New to Council this term were Lisa Marshall (434), Leanna Kennedy (392), Carley Gloade (375), Natasha Bernard (375), and James Stevens (321). Re-elected were Colin Bernard (268), Ward Markie (296), Alex Cope (333), Gordon Johnson (289), Barry Martin Sr. (307), Peter Gloade (279) and Steve Marshall (285). Adrain Gloade and Bryan Brooks did not retain their position this term.

Congratulations to everyone, we wish you all the best over the next 2 year term, which begins March 5, 2020.
