The Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq is excited for you to join us September 13th-15th for a fun and educational weekend at Kejimkujik National Park! Kejimkujik NP is located near Caledonia, Nova Scotia and is the location of our 2019 Youth Camp Event. This is an overnight event for youth ages 12-15 (minor exceptions may be considered). We are recruiting 50+ youth from across all 8 mainland Mi’kmaw communities with spots available for youth from Unama’ki (Cape Breton) as well.

The event will include cultural activities, such medicine walks, fire-side story telling, music and dancing, Mi’kmaw language and ceremonies (Sunrise/Sunset and Water), outdoor activities such as canoeing, fishing, swimming, a nature scavenger hunt, and star gazing as well as environment/conservation activities such as mock radio tracking of species at risk, wildlife survey methods, and species at risk and invasive species info. There will also be a launching of a traditional Mi’kmaw birch bark canoe built by renowned artist Todd Labrador during this camp ...
