Dear Editor:
This is a quote by Justin Trudeau commenting on the racist treatment of Mexicans/Indians and refugees at the Mexico/USA border: “Obviously this is not the way we do things in Canada”.
I write as a survivor of one of Canada’s Indian Residential Schools. When I was six years of age, I was taken from my mother and father and placed in an indian Residential School and was there for six years completely separated from my mother, father and family. So, how can Justin Trudeau now say that the Canadian government does not separate children from their families? What was done to our people went on for 100 plus years for millions of Indian children.
As Indians of Canada, USA and Mexico, we see no difference between any of those transplanted Europeans who came to our homeland to steal our land through genocide.
