The votes have been counted and the community has spoken! Following several weeks of campaigning by the candidates for Chief and Council, Membertou voters have elected four (4) new council members: Craig Christmas, Gail Christmas, Graham Marshall and Cary Paul. A special thank you to Austin Christmas, Julie Christmas, and Joan Denny for their years of service.
Chief Terry Paul was re-elected for his 17th consecutive term.
Starting with this election, terms will now be four (4) years instead of two (2).
Congratulations to all candidates on their campaigns! Thank you to the electoral staff for their hard work on Election Day and counting night.
