Before I get into the substance of my speech today I would just like to reflect on a positive summer that showcased Mi’kmaq and Maritime hospitality. The celebration of Aboriginal day live was an amazing celebration hosted on the Halifax waterfront that brought together thousands in celebration of Aboriginal entertainment and was a nationally televised event.
