Muiwatmnej Etuaptmumk/Honouring Two-Eyed Seeing” Attracts Hundreds from across North America with a Focus on Two-Eyed Seeing in Action.

The “Muiwatmnej Etuaptmumk/Honouring Two-Eyed Seeing” conference in Membertou, NS, was a resounding success. Fostering a deepened understanding and appreciation of the Two-Eyed Seeing approach, the conference celebrated the application of this unique worldview across diverse disciplines and organizational relationships, helping attendees see how they can embrace Two-Eyed Seeing in their work. Chaired by the Honourable Mr. Dan Christmas, the conference showcased enlightening presentations and discussions focusing on the integration of Indigenous and Western ways of knowing.

The three-day program was presented by the Bras d’Or Lakes Collaborative Environmental Planning Initiative (CEPI), an organization that brings together First Nation, Municipal, Provincial and Federal governments in collaborative management of the Bras d’Or Lakes and its watershed. Two-Eyed Seeing is the foundational cornerstone of the work of CEPI.

Conference coordinator Annie Johnson offered this heartfelt reflection: “I’m so grateful for everyone who helped to put this event together.
