On November 2, 2022, Janna Mackay, Director of Health & Social Services, graduated as a Certified First Nations Health Manager from the First Nations Health Managers Association (FNHMA) at the 10th Anniversary National Conference in Victoria, BC. Additionally, Janna also received the Doris Bear award for Student Achievement.
The FNHMA is a national, professional association exclusively serving the needs of individuals working for or aspiring to positions with First Nations organizations.
The FNHMA provides leadership in health management activities by developing and promoting quality standards, practices, research, certification, and professional development to expand the capacity of members and First Nations organizations. The FNHMA recognizes First Nations Health Managers as leaders who honour, maintain and uphold inherent ways of knowing while balancing management principles to bring excellence to their communities and health programs.
