We hit the Powwow Trail this month, attending Mawiomis at Pictou Landing on June 4, Abegweit on June 11, and capped off June at St. Mary’s Powwow just last weekend on the 25th. The AFNWA info booth and tent were set up at PLFN and AFN, with our staff members on-site to talk to community members about the work we are currently doing and will be doing in the future in their communities. We received many interested visitors and handed out water bottles, flashlights, beach balls, phone wallets and our lapel pin which has been very popular! In July, we’ll attend Eskasoni’s First Nation, Oromocto, Sipekne’katik, Potlotek, and Tobique Powwows. Please stop by our table to say hello and get some great AFNWA swag!
