The Eskasoni Red Tribe Boxing Club now has a permanent place they call home, which was started 2 years ago by family & friends. “Working on a project this huge wasn’t that easy, lots of fund raising took place in order to start construction” says, Barry Bernard head coach of the Boxing Club. Many months were spent organizing and selling chase the ace tickets. The estimated cost of the building was at $40 thousand. “This was our goal”. “We are not carpenters, but with the expert advise from Elder Michael Denny, Brendon Poulette, and crew from George T. Sylliboy, the boxers and my family started the construction and at no time the walls were up and the roof” commented Bernard. John Boy Gould electric company donated the electrical work and Gillis Building supplies donated the rafters for the roof.
