March 28, 2020 – While the doors and book drops are closed at your local library, reading is still available online for all ages and interests.
Following NS Public Health directives, the Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library (PARL) Board made the difficult decision to close its physical doors to the public until further notice, beginning on March 16, 2020. “We regret this decision but it is obviously the right one. We know many people depend upon our services for literacy, learning, internet access, and much more, but extraordinary times require extraordinary measures”, says John Blackwell, Board Chair.
In the meantime, library staff have been busy shifting attention to our free online library services. The Regional Library has allocated over 50 percent in extra funding to our Overdrive collection of e-books and downloadable audiobooks (Link: https://novascotia.overdrive.com). For magazine readers we have a free collection of popular magazines through RB Digital (Link: https://www.rbdigital.com/novascotialibraries/service/magazines ...
