I had a chat with Nik Phillips, Millbrook’s Director of Early Education. In this article, Nik outlines changes he and his team have made within the past four years and plans for the future. When Nik got hired, Millbrook’s Chief and Council had a list of goals for Nik to achieve with the Early Education Centre. The targets were creating a Mi’kmaw Language Curriculum, expanding capacity and updating student and staff policies.
