About the program
The St. Mary’s First Nation (SMFN) Adult Maliseet Language Program (MLP) is an intense tow year linguistic and cultural program designed for non-speakers. There are two parts to the program. Part one consists of St. Thomas University language credit courses. Part two consists of learning and practicing various traditional Maliseet activities.
Part one of the MLP, in partnership with St. Thomas University, offers students 24 credit hours each of the two years, derived from St. Thomas University’s Native Language immersion Teacher’s Certificate Programme.
