On January 9th 2018, my son Trevor Sanipass did a land acknowledgement in Mi’kmaq to the Prime Minister of Canada. He was approached by the team of Darrell Sampson, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Liberal party on behalf of Justin Trudeau. My son graciously accepted the request and invitation from the Prime Minister.
Initially he was asked to do an honour song and a land acknowledgement, however, due to time constraints, he only did the acknowledgement.
