Rose Paul, director of economic development at Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation, is the first Mi’kmaq representative to be appointed to the Antigonish Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
Paul, who sits on the economic development committee of the Municipality of the County of Antigonish, was also recently voted as individual economic development officer of the year by the national CANDO (Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers) organization.
Ms. Paul, a driving force behind the $15.3 million highway interchange and commercial development project now under construction, will attend her first board of directors meeting on January 25, 2018.
