On Friday, March 27, approximately 70 Teachers Assistants and Student Support Workers attended the first of 4 workshops in Eskasoni on working with students who have behavioral challenges.
The theme for the series of workshops was Facilitating Independence and Supporting Behavioral Needs.
At this workshop, participants learned about the learning characteristics and challenges of students who are diagnosed with Autism, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Conduct Disorder. They discussed different strategies that can be used for working with students who have behavioral challenges.
