On October 22- 25, 2014 Bear River First Nation (L’sitkuk) held its Harvesters’ Gathering. The intent of the 4-day event was to celebrate the year’s cycle of hunting/fishing/gathering by honouring the community harvesters and feasting as a community at that time. We wanted to carry this out using our Mi’kmaw cultural practices, such as holding a sacred fire, singing, dancing, and sharing stories for four days.
