Youth from the Millbrook and Bear River First Nation participated in the 2013 Six Nations U 19 Field Lacrosse Invitational. This was the first ever First Nations Field Lacrosse tournament taking place in Oshweken, Ontario on May 23- 26, 2013. Six Nations Field Lacrosse 2013 had teams from: Nadzitsaga, Oregon, Wasse Abin High Warriors, Wikwemikong First Nation, Assumption High School, Brantford, ON, Kahnawake, Mount Carmel Secondary, Mississauga, ON, McKinnon Park Secondary, Caledonia, ON, Six Nations Field Lacrosse and St. Michaels College. The team placed five out of eight at the tournament with a total of six games played during the weekend. Team Mi’kma’ki also had the opportunity to play in a nations game in which players from four teams were all mixed together to form two teams to showcase Lacrosse as a game of “Peace and Friendship”.
