WOW… 2011-2012 was a very exciting, and very, busy school year!!! First of all, congratulations to our graduates: Joseph Brooks, Mika Copage, Ivan Knockwood, and Kanisha Levi. The following awards were given to the graduates:
- Highest Grade 12 Average – Ivan Knockwood;
- Senior High School Student Role Model Award in Memory of Carl Sack – Joseph Brooks;
- Vice Principal’s Award for High School – Kanisha Levi; and
- LSK Award for the student who attended both IBS and LSK, and who has been involved in school-wide activities – Mika Copage.
Once again, congratulations and good luck with your future endeavours.
Next, the Aboriginal Shield Project participants, lead by Tina Nevin and the RCMP, received their certificates. The program ran for 6 to 8 weeks for students in grades 5 to 8. Thank you to all who participated.
The Students of the Month for June are: Joseph Brooks (grade 12), Cody Julian (grade 6) and Ariel Willis (grade 4). The Mi’kmaq Language Student of the Month was Shaznay Greer (grade 6) and the grade four class received the Gym Class of the Month award. Well done!
Finally, LSK FUN DAY! On June 27th, the school hosted a day full of fun activities for all the Indian Brook students. Thankfully, the rain held off and the sun began to shine. Some of the bouncers, slides, mazes and interactive activities included:
