Our fourth year at LSK has almost come to an end. It has been one very exciting year. Many, many events, good times, memories and awards… and a lot of fund-raising. Our staff and students have worked very hard with their fund-raising efforts to raise their own money for their end-of-year trips. They should all be very proud of themselves. Some of the things that happened this year included a couple of hockey legends coming for a visit, DARE Arts coming in to help our students create their own beautiful artwork, and numerous awards for Remembrance Day posters, poetry and essays. Also, our big awards for the RCMP’s Adopt-a-Library 2012 WOW! Reading Challenge.
Not only did our school win the MK Division, but we were also the top Canadian readers and winners of the World title. As the librarian and organizer for the Elementary students, I am so very proud of all the students, teachers and EAs for their dedication to become better readers. Their hard work truly paid off.
I have enjoyed another year of writing on behalf of our school… and being the photographer. These are only a few of the things that have been happening at LSK. We still have one month to go before our summer break, and I can’t wait to see what June brings.
